What role does marcom play in your marketing mix?

Marketing communications (marcom) is a discipline separate from other marketing functions like market research and product management/marketing. Marcom is centered on the development and delivery of the organization’s messaging to its target market. Focusing on creative concept development, copy writing, graphic design, marcom typically integrates the following responsibilities:
—Advertising (including media selection and placement)
—Collateral development (including all event and sales support tools)
—Direct marketing (print and electronic)
—Public relations (including press releases and publicity events)
—Website content development (including search engine optimization)

Marcom managers require creativity, very high proficiency in writing, and creative graphic design skills.
