Anyone used "Bing" yet? What was your initial reaction? Likes/Dislikes? Do you think Microsoft has created a product that will slowly help it build leadership in a field grossly dominated by Google? Will Bing eat away at Google or will it grow at Yahoo's expense?

My initial reaction is that Bing doesn't add anything new or innovative to the search experience. I was surprised by how much it resembles Google in functionality and even in its design. I will continue to Google until Microsoft gives me a better reason to switch. What do you think?

I certainly agree. I see Bing as an old product in a new wrapper. Google is to Search what Apple is to the iPhone/iPod. It's become an ecosystem [Adwords, AdSense, Maps, Auctions etc.]. It's not just about Search anymore. If Microsoft wants to compete starting with search they should focus their efforts on contextual search and natural language processing.

On that same note, try www.WolframAlpha.com. They've implemented some artificial intelligence and contextual parsing in it. Try searching for things like "how many planets in the solar system" or just try entering any date.

I have been using Bing and Google in parallel. I would say they are different, but Bing seem to be pretty good. The only big difference is that Bing does not have the credibility and trust that Google commands today.
