Anyone have experience getting companies to use your products in marketing lead gen programs?

Both for my own book and for some client products, I am trying to find companies that are looking for ways to generate leads or recognize loyal customers with giveaways/gifts. I am challenged with how to approach this, who in the organization to target, and with what message and delivery method to pursue this. So for example, using a product as "gift with purchase" or a within in a direct mail program, or as a thank you for filling in a survey.

I know this is done often so if anyone has had success with getting companies to buy or fund marketing programs using your products, I would love to learn about your experience. I'd also be grateful to hear from people who have purchased products to use in their own programs - basically the other side of the fence...any advice is very appreciated.

Thanks!

Alyssa, I was thinking you should talk with Craig Underwood, he started loyalty programs or air miles in canada. Also thinking you might try the vendors of free giveaways and ask them for customer case studies.

Alyssa,
My company, Response Capture, is just venturing into this area. My partner and I have been engaged with companies on a case-by-case basis to design and deploy their marketing programs. But, our new platform provides an entire suite of products that help managers/directors deliver a marketing campaign on a pay-for-performance basis. We're currently in private beta [launching in 2 weeks] but if you sign up for an account on www.responsecapture.com I'd be sure to send you your login credentials.

Thanks and good luck on the book.

Alyssa,

I'm not sure if you are still working on this type of program as I see you posted this back in January, however, in the event that you are still implementing a strategy.... I'm happy to share with you my experience in implementing these types of programs. We can also set a time to brainstorm on ideas for your clients. If the foundation is set up properly, these programs can be quite successful...especially in this market.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
